In the middle of Stockholm’s archipelago lies Svartsö, one of the larger islands in the area. It is about 1 mile long and 2.5 km wide. In the summer it takes about 1.5 hours to go boat from Stockholm to Svartsö. By boat from Värmdö it takes about 40 minutes. Both the Waxholmsboat and Cinderella drive the island. Along the country road, which extends both west / east and south / north, you see open farmland and woodland areas. Both flora and fauna offer a lot of effort. The rainy Kungsängsliljan grows in an undesirable place. During spring and summer, the meadows and dikes riders are full bloom. In the two large, clear lakes, both the big lion and the beaver inhabit. Rådjuren often appears beta and sometimes it lives on the island. At Svartsö there are 65 residents, in summer the number increases to about 1000.
Day tourists also visit the island, so the difference in life here is quite large between the winter and summer months. Svartsö School, located in the middle of the island, has 20 students and extends to class nine. Preschool has seven children. The children who walk here come from Svartsö and from the islands around. The children who live on other islands go to school to school and in winter they float over the ice. The cultural life of Svartsö is the highest living with artists and the creative hometown association. Every year in July there is a cultural week in the village yard on the island. During that day, family day breaks off, artists exhibit their works, everything ends with the hometown day and the exciting pork roast.
